Description
In earlier versions of VS Code, when Copilot (agent mode) edited files, a persistent list of changed files (the working set) was displayed directly above the chat input box. This made it easy to see at a glance which files had been modified, review their diffs, and restore individual files.
In recent versions (tested on 1.140.0), this UI was removed as part of the chat UI rework. The changed files are now only visible as a collapsible "N files changed" summary row in the chat transcript after the agent's turn completes, or in the Source Control view.
Feature Request
Please restore the changed-files list above the chat input box, or provide a setting (e.g. chat.edits.showWorkingSet) to bring it back. It was a very convenient way to track and manage Copilot's edits while the conversation was ongoing.
Environment
- VS Code version: 1.140.0
- OS: Windows
