Please post your pet feature requests below!

On deck:

• Use sprite sheet instead of GIF
• Animation for typing, sleep, wake, thinking
• Color customization
• Animations for error, more click animation, hiding it
• When pet is active, save space so chat response is not blocked.
• Naming (socials)
• Match frame rates
• Extension contributable

Suggestion: We have thumbs-up (in local anyway), can the pet have hi-five action instead for "good response"? I'm fine if there is a petting action instead...

Justin Chen (@justschen) mentioned he's already aware of this one, but posting for posterity:

Sleeping bubble gets cut off at the right (Agents window)

[justschen]

• draggable, but drops down to the chat input
• better typing animation
• circle -> dizzy

When resizing the width of the chat sidebar in the Editor window, the pet should preserve its distance from the right edge if it is on the right half of the panel, and its distance from the left edge if it is on the left half of the panel. This is so that if you make the panel narrow and then wide again, the pet won't end up stranded in the middle, but rather will keep towards the edge of the side panel. Currently, the pet always preserves its distance from the left edge.

The speech bubble glitches a bit on a 1:1 pixel ratio (non-retina) monitor when the chat is streaming in:

The pet is partially covered when editing an existing chat

working on these!

The pet is partially covered when editing an existing chat

haha is actually not even a pet issue, it's because the editing overlay doesn't actually go all the way down the chat response. looking now!

In the agents window, the pet is hard to grab when there are pills rendered:

Also feature request: I would like to be able to catch the pet while he is falling. Maybe we even have a counter for how many you can do in a row 😄

PR to fix this should be in today

i prototyped a game where if you hit him with the mouse on the way down, he would bounce back up (like pong or something) HAHA we can add a counter for that maybe

The pet sprite gets partially covered by the "sticky scroll for prompts" when dragged to the top of the window (Chat sidebar, VSC 1.135 on macOS). Not sure if this has already been fixed for the next release?

This has now been opened by a separate user as an Issue: #333024
