This would be a nice feature. While the update button is helpful to avoid having to rebase your branches yourself, it's not so much when you accidentally add a merge commit in your branch because 'Update by merge commit' is the default. So while the feature would be complete by allowing you to disable the merge commit / rebase strategies individually, even allowing changing the default would be already useful. +1 |

Dear Github community,
I was looking for disabling the merge commit possibility from the Update button strategy but couldn't find a way. Is there any?
I'm not speaking about the Merge button which already has the configuration possibility :)
I believe some of us would rather prefer having either rebase or the merge enabled or even be able to set another default would already be helpful.
